What is the electricity cost per kWh in Cap Cana, and how much could I save?
The electricity rate in Cap Cana is RD$ 25/kWh. Savings are assessed based on your electricity use and the proposed system. Our battery systems for self-consumption are designed to reduce the electricity you buy from the grid.
How long does it take for a solar and battery system to pay for itself?
As a general rule, about 4 years; this is not a guarantee and is calculated using your electricity bill. The timeframe for your project requires an assessment of your electricity use and the rate you pay. Send us your bill on WhatsApp so we can assess the investment in a battery system for self-consumption.
What size solar and battery system can you install?
We work with single-phase and three-phase inverters from 2 kW to 2,000 kW; solar panels from 1 panel up to 4 MW; and batteries from 1.2 kWh to 9.6 MWh. Capacity is sized to your electricity use.
How does solar self-consumption with batteries work?
Self-consumption with batteries uses solar power and stored energy to reduce the electricity you buy from the grid, without exporting power. In the eastern region, we install systems with batteries for 100% self-consumption and do not use net metering. For these installations, we recommend Victron Energy inverters and WeCo batteries.
Will my solar and battery system work during a power outage?
It depends on the configuration: a Victron Energy hybrid inverter with WeCo batteries can keep protected loads running; solar panels connected only to the grid shut down. Batteries can keep protected loads running in your home or business, depending on available energy, electricity use, and the condition of the installation. This continuity must be considered when sizing the system.
Can a solar and battery system serve an independent hotel with 50 to 60 rooms?
Yes. The system is sized using the property’s last 12 months of electricity use to define equipment capacity. We also integrate automation for air conditioning, heaters, and lighting, with control from your phone and computer.
Who supplies electricity in Cap Cana?
Cap Cana has its own electricity distributor, with a rate of RD$ 25/kWh. We use the amount you pay, as shown on your bill, to assess your system. From our Santo Domingo office, we serve Cap Cana and Juanillo, as well as the entire eastern region.
Can I get assistance in my language?
Yes. We provide WhatsApp service in Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch and many more languages. Send us your electricity bill so we can assess the self-consumption and battery needs of your villa, business, or small hotel.
What batteries and inverters do you use for a property near the Cap Cana marina?
We use WeCo 16K0 batteries, fully sealed and coated with marine paint, together with Victron inverters. These inverters were originally designed for installation on boats and are prepared for salt air, humidity and heat. Victron has been in business for more than 50 years.
Can I monitor my solar system from my phone while living abroad?
Yes. View your system using the powerful Victron VRM platform or the WeCo NOOR app, depending on the brand of inverter system you choose. If you live abroad, these tools allow remote monitoring. We also offer automation for homes, villas, and small hotels, with control from your phone and computer and schedules tailored to how the property is used.
Are you certified by the manufacturers?
Yes. Victron Energy certifies SUSEINCA as its direct factory representative for the Dominican Republic, qualified to provide support and preventive and corrective maintenance (letter dated November 11, 2021), and WeCo accredits SUSEINCA as its authorized representative and technical support provider for Latin America (letter dated October 9, 2025). Both official letters are publicly available and linked on this page.
