What is the electricity cost in Punta Cana, and how much could I save?
A reference rate for electricity in Punta Cana is RD$ 22.90 per kWh, on a single-rate tariff. Check your electricity bill; this is not a universal price. Savings are calculated using your bill and your property’s consumption.
How long does it take for the system to pay for itself?
As a general rule, about 4 years. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. We calculate the timeframe using your electricity bill, your property’s consumption and the system you need.
What size system do I need?
Available sizes range from 2 kW to 2,000 kW for single-phase and three-phase inverters, from 1 panel to 4 MW for solar panels, and from 1.2 kWh to 9.6 MWh for batteries. The choice depends on your consumption. For small hotels, we review 12 months of bills.
How does using solar power with batteries work?
Your property uses energy produced by the panels and stored in the batteries, reducing the electricity you buy from the grid. We do not provide net metering with our systems in the eastern region. Automations can schedule energy use for when the sun is shining.
What happens if the power goes out?
It depends on the configuration. A system with a Victron inverter, WeCo batteries and protected loads can keep operating. Grid-connected panels alone shut down when the grid fails. Which equipment continues to operate depends on the configuration and protected loads.
Can this work for a small hotel with 50 to 60 rooms?
Yes. We size the system using 12 months of bills. For a small hotel with 50 to 60 rooms, we integrate energy, air conditioning, lighting and energy reports. You can also check each room’s status and record cleaning while keeping staff informed.
Can I get assistance in English?
Yes. Contact us on WhatsApp at +1 809 998 1120. We respond in Spanish, English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch and many more languages. Ask us in your language about solar power with batteries and integrated technology for your villa, Airbnb, local business or small hotel in the eastern region.
Can I control the system from my phone if I live abroad?
Yes. You can control the system from your phone or computer. See your system on the powerful Victron VRM platform or on the WeCo NOOR app, depending on the brand of inverter system you choose. Controlling the home requires control equipment adapted to your property. Schedules and automations let you manage air conditioning, lighting and other equipment, and check your property’s status while you live abroad.
Can I connect my solar system to home automation?
Yes. The most advanced energy management features are available with Victron inverters; with WeCo inverters, you can view the system in NOOR. To control the home, we install additional equipment adapted to your property. We prepare a quotation after a technical site visit, according to the level of control and the actions you want.
Do you offer monitoring?
Yes. It is an optional service with a monthly subscription; if you choose it, SUSEINCA keeps watch over the entire system.
Are you certified by the manufacturers?
Yes. Victron Energy certifies SUSEINCA as its direct factory representative for the Dominican Republic, qualified to provide support and preventive and corrective maintenance (letter dated November 11, 2021), and WeCo accredits SUSEINCA as its authorized representative and technical support provider for Latin America (letter dated October 9, 2025). Both official letters are publicly available and linked on this page.
